The large flowers of Denis Roessiger (Pot. Golden Circle x Slc. Angel Eyes) are very round, with an unusual red on red flaring with a well-shaped red lip and a spot of yellow in the throat. Top Shelf (Pot. Hawaiian Prominence x Pot. Rubescence) has us excited about its breeding potential. We are making a ‘test cross’ based on what we know about the ancestor’s tendencies. Will the flowers be flared? Not many, most will be red, but a few will be flared. Will the flowers have full, round shape? Yes they will. Will the plants be easy to grow and bloom? Yes!
