Barrita Orchids
Cattleya Orchid Hybrid SVO11929 (Slc. Virginia Dickey 'Diamond Orchids' AM/AOS x Slc. Angel Eyes 'SVO' AM/AOS)
Hybrid seedling plant in a 50mm tube.
Slc. Virginia’s Eyes
Virginia Dickey (Slc. Pink Doll x Sl. Pole-Star) is a darling mini-Catt. Plants flower twice a year in 3” pots and have sturdy stems holding 2-3 bright red flowers of superior form. Angel Eyes (Slc. Bright Angel x Lc. Little Dipper) has been in our breeding program for many years and has created many successful crosses. Just recently, I realised how good a parent it is: dominant for flaring, flat petals, good flower size, reduced plant stature, and ease of growth. This is expected to be a new class of flared mini-Catts, with the flowers having the traditional flared look, but the plants will be smaller. Sturdy stems will hold 3-4 flowers in colours of red and red-rose with yellow splashed petals
Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description was written by Fred Clarke and details the expectation of this hybrid.
