Barrita Orchids
Cattleya Orchid Hybrid SVO10308 (Slc. Seagulls Apricot 'Choice Morsel' x self)
Hybrid seedling plant in a 50mm tube. Slc. Seagull’s Apricot
Seagulls Apricot is a legendary hybrid used extensively by Frank Fordyce, Ron Midgett and of course by us. Seagulls Apricot (Slc. California Apricot x Soph. coccinea) has flowers with wide petals and a neon-like orange colour, which is very hard to photograph properly. The cultivar ‘Choice Morsel’ was one favoured for breeding by Frank Fordyce. This selfing will affirm the flower qualities, these are small plants blooming with very shapely neon orange flowers.
Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description was written by Fred Clarke and details the expectation of this hybrid.
