Imported seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA, bred by Fred Clarke.
In this cross, we are breeding for the classic-shaped cattleya flower form, but in orange. We used the photo from ‘Native Son’ to show the high quality of the William Farrell (Pot. Helen Veliz x Blc. Llano) flowers. Carolina Golden D'Or (Blc. Bouton D'Or x C. Warpaint) has deep orange flowers with heavy substance. William Ferrell will impart shape, strong inflorescence and allow the flower colour from Carolina Golden D’or to express itself. When all this comes together, it will make for impressive progeny.
