Novelty hybrids are always fun, and this might be the ‘funnest’, is that a word? C. schofieldiana is a tall slender plant, with 6-7 spotted flowers with red lips. C. velutina has very slender bulbs and this plant ‘SVO 24’ blooms with 24 flowers! We are expecting these will bloom with 12-14 flowers, thanks to the influence of velutina. The flower size will be approaching 3” and the flower will be spotted. These protocorms are treated (t) with oryzalin to help induce higher ploidy, the ones that do convert will be highly desirable. You should grow this just for kicks!
