I have not made a cross all the way back to the shapely, deep red Rubescence for a while, but this year we did several. In this case, we felt the addition of the crazy round flower of Sacramento Jewel (Slc. Tangerine Jewel x Lc. Sacramento Rose) combined with its small stature has significant potential. Our expectation for this grex is mini-Catt-sized plants standing 4” tall which will begin to bloom in 3” pots. The 2.5” flowers will be dark red with a fantastic round form.
