Barrita Orchids
Cattleya Orchid Seedling SVO 10459 (C. leopoldii ' SVO Dark Blood' x L. milleri 'Henry Polk' AM/AOS)
Hybrid seedling plant in a 50mm tube. Lc. Florence Lin (Jalapa)
The first time we made Florence Lin it was with a 2n leopoldii that blooms with up to 52 flowers on a single inflorescence. The offspring were very floriferous, carrying 15-19 flowers per stem, and received several AOS awards. The second time we made it, we used the two parents listed here, and what a difference that made in flower colour, size and shape! Not surprisingly, they sold out quickly. Here we have re-used those same parents to re-make the re-make. The flowers will be deep red with even darker burgundy spots and have excellent shape. This is a very desirable primary hybrid, a real must-have!
Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description was written by Fred Clarke and details the expectation of this hybrid.
