Hybrid seedling plant in a 50mm tube.
One of my favourite colour combinations is flowers with pink petals and sepals with yellow lips. It is easy to say, harder to do. Tiny Treasure (C. Porcia x L. longipes) has a dark pink/lavender flower with bright yellow lip imparted from the longipes, the flowers are well presented in groups of 4-6 from small plants 6-7” tall. C. harrisoniana imparts pink flowers and yellow lips to its offspring. The cultivar ‘Volcano Queen’ is a mericlone mutation, it’s with improved flower colour, size, shape and substance is very impressive. With the progeny of this cross, we will see improved flower size, dark pink flower colour and yellow lip, plus increased flower count and upright inflorescences.
Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description was written by Fred Clarke and details the expectation of this hybrid.
