Our past experience breeding Richard Mueller to spotted parents has been successful. Here we decided to use Hot Spot (C. Black Jack x C. Mark Jones) which has lots of large flowers, up to 9 on a stem, and the flowers are peppered in fine spotting all framed by a red lip. Breeding with Richard Mueller (B. nodosa x L. milleri) strongly influences flower shape and transmits spotted lips. The offspring from this mating will have starry-shaped flowers peppered with dense spotting, lips will be red with the flowers displayed in clusters of 5-7 above the foliage.
