Here we are breeding for coerulea flowers, with dark blue lips and bright yellow throats. C. loddigesii will add its coerulea colour and also importantly add the bright yellow throat so desirable in blue breeding and it makes the blue look bluer! Canhamiana (C. mossiae x C. purpurata) have large flowers up to 7” across, beautiful full, dark blue lips with some yellow in the throat. We are expecting the offspring to be in the desired colour with a bright yellow throat and 5-7 large blooms held on strong stems.
