Hybrid seedling plant in a 100mm pot.
Near flowering size.
Angel Eyes (Slc. Bright Angel x Lc. Little Dipper) has been in our breeding program for over 20 years and created many successful crosses. Just recently, I realized how good a parent it is: dominant for flaring, flat petals, good flower size, reduced plant stature, and ease of growth. Virginia Dickey (Slc. Pink Doll x Sl. Pole-Star) is a darling mini-Catt. Plants flower twice a year in 3” pots and have sturdy stems holding 2-3 bright red flowers of superior form. This cross is expected to be the first in a new class of flared mini-Catts, with flowers having the traditional flared look on smaller plants. Sturdy stems will hold 3-4 flowers in colours of red and red/rose with yellow splashed petals.
Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description was written by Fred Clarke and details the expectation of this hybrid.
