Barrita Orchids
Cattleya Orchid Seedling SVO 10684 (Bl. Richard Mueller '4n' x C. Orchidglade 'SVO' HCC/AOS)
Hybrid seedling plant in a 50mm tube.
When it comes to Brassavola hybrids Richard Mueller (B. nodosa x L. milleri) is a well-recognized parent. It imparts shape, colour, and plant vigour. Orchidglade (C. walkeriana x C. aurantiaca) has surprised at times how good a parent it can be. Its orange flowers with yellow lips accented in red at the tip can lend a lot of character to its offspring. We are expecting 5-6, starry orange flowers with broad trumpet-shaped yellow randomly spotted red. This is an interesting new direction in breeding with Richard Mueller.
Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description was written by Fred Clarke and details the expectation of this hybrid.
