Barrita Orchids
Cattleya Orchid Seedling SVO 10508 (C. Little Dipper 'SVO Sato' 4N x Lc. Rosie's Surprise 'Crestview')
Hybrid seedling plant in a 50mm tube.
Little Dipper (C. Angelwalker x C. Batalinii) has very flat flared flower for breeding with C. intermedia aquinii, and ‘SVO Sato 4n’ imparts this flatness to its progeny. Rosie’s Surprise (Lc. Irene Finney x C. walkeriana) is an impressive flat, soft pink flower with wide petals and beautifully contrasting lips. We are expecting to see a large flower size from the parents, 3-4 well-presented flowers and for the colour, we believe many of the offspring will have bold fares of purple-red on the petals. Lots of potential to be released through this mating.
Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description was written by Fred Clarke and details the expectation of this hybrid.
