Hybrid seedling plant in a 50mm tube.

I was on 'Cloud Nine' when the first of these bloomed! It is an easy-growing, free-flowering mini-catt with exceptionally full flower shape and dark red color.   The solid dark red flowers and even darker red lip of Rubescence (Blc. Oconee x Slc. Seagulls Apricot) will give the progeny of this hybrid excellent shape and flowers in a rich intense red-purple color.  The Orpetii (L. pumila x Soph. coccinea) is a 'Hidden Treasure' it is a highly selected cultivar from the breeding of Allen Koch/Gold Country Orchids. It is a mini-Catt with dark purple-red flowers that are as wide as the plant is tall! It blooms in the winter, then again in the spring on vigorous plants that break multiple leads easily. This mating is the perfect couple, there's not much more to say – this is just an excellent solid red cross, with excellent shape!  Look at this Picture  2532 and this Picture 3497, a superb mini-catt cross, truly excellent!

Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description details the expectation of this hybrid.
