Hybrid seedling plant in a 50mm tube.
Princesse Clémentine (C. aclandiae x C. dowiana) blooms with large five-inch flowers in burnt-orange, finely spotted light magenta, with a broad light magenta lip, the strong, erect inflorescence holds 5 symmetrically arranged flowers, impressive. This velutina 'SVO 24' is named for its ability to flower with 24 blooms per stem. Yes - 24 flowers! For this species, 6-10 flowers are the normal range making this clone truly exceptional. The flowers have undulated segments, are bronze-yellow, with random burgundy spots and the wide lip is veined dark purple, the shape and colors make this unusual species spectacular. The colors of these two parents appear compatible: can you imagine 10-12 flowers held above the foliage in golden-orange, finely spotted magenta with broad lips? What and interesting cross!
Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description details the expectation of this hybrid.
