Hybrid seedling plant in a 50mm tube.
How many of you remember Lc. Puppy Love? It is one of my all-time favorite Cattleyas and I’ll never forget that first impression it made when I saw it blooming at Stewarts Orchids. Dubiosa (C. trianae x C. loddigesii) produces impressive heads of white flowers with a bit of lavender in the throat, the 5-9 flowers are surprisingly long lived up to 6-7 weeks. The anceps ‘Gigas’ is a darkly pigmented line bred strain from Sandro Cusi of Orquideas Rio Verde near Mexico City, its dark color, large flower size and 5 flowers per stem make this an exceptional anceps. This re-make promises to deliver darker pigmented Puppy Love’s, with strong arching inflorescences displaying 5-8 well arranged flowers.
Imported Seedling from Sunset Valley Orchids, USA. Picture shows the parent of this cross. The above description details the expectation of this hybrid.
